  • “Working with San Stae on my loft was an absolute game-changer. They turned a pretty tough space - think exposed brick and concrete floors - into the cosiest spot ever. Aly is super creative, nails every detail, and somehow keeps everything on budget without breaking a sweat. Communication was a breeze, and honestly, she made the whole process fun. If you’re looking to transform your place and have a great time doing it, San Stae is your go-to!”

    - J Smith, Jewellery Quarter Loft Apartment

  • “I worked with San Stae on an interior project for my new (Grade 2* listed) home. Aly really helped support bringing my vision to life and making suggestions on what would and would not necessarily work in the space. Aly was able to tailor the project based on my needs and budget, which I appreciated as it felt more customized. This included digital design layouts of the space, sourcing materials, and consistent check-ins weekly to ensure we were on the right track. There were a few stress points where I changed direction due to outside circumstances and Aly was able to pivot and help provide options for me to move in a new direction with ease.  I am so pleased with the outcome of project, and the beauty of my new home!”

    - Private Client, Countryside Pied-à-Terre

  • “One challenge we had faced was finding the perfect artwork, but thanks to Aly’s expertise in art, she not only sourced stunning pieces but also used them as the foundation for designing each room. This thoughtful approach has resulted in spaces that feel truly cohesive, with the artwork seamlessly integrated as a central element rather than an afterthought.”

    - R.Mlynski, Clifton Family Home

1.design consultation

Every project begins with an in-person design consultation at your home or site. This is our opportunity to understand you, your space, and what you would like it to become. We’ll discuss how you live, your aspirations, practical requirements, budget and timeline, as well as the overall atmosphere you want to create. This meeting allows us to establish a clear brief and define the scope of works. Following the consultation, we prepare a tailored fee proposal and outline the recommended next steps.

2.brief & early concept

This is where we start to shape the overall vision for the project. We begin by getting to know how you want the space to feel, function and flow, develop initial 2D and 3D design concepts. Alongside this, we explore layouts, materials, lighting and spatial ideas to create a clear design direction and overall atmosphere for the space. Early palettes and sample boards help bring the concept to life, while ongoing collaboration with architects and consultants ensures everything works both practically and aesthetically.

3.design development

With the concept direction agreed, we develop the spatial and technical design. This includes floor plans, layouts, elevations, and lighting and electrical planning, alongside the development of key areas such as kitchens, bathrooms and bespoke joinery. We refine how the space works, ensuring it functions seamlessly while supporting the overall design vision.

4. detailed design

At this stage, every element of the scheme is fully defined. We specify all materials, finishes, fixtures and furnishings from flooring and ironmongery to upholstery, window treatments and accessories. The design is communicated through detailed drawings, schedules, material boards and, where appropriate, 3D visualisations and walkthroughs, allowing you to fully experience the scheme prior to implementation.

5. procurement

Once the design is signed off, we manage the sourcing and procurement of all approved items. We coordinate with trusted suppliers, makers and contractors, manage orders and lead times, and oversee logistics to ensure everything is delivered smoothly and in line with the project timeline..

From larger pieces through to the smallest accessories, everything is carefully considered and placed, so your home feels settled, personal and ready to enjoy from the moment you walk in.
